It is a volcanic crater with an area of approximately 6 thousand 500 hectares. Of which 2 thousand 500 are the mirror of water (about 25 km2).
More than 20 thousand people live in the basin, with an average of 5 thousand monthly tourists that visit the Lake according to the Lake Coatepeque page.
It has now been submitted for consideration for the Seven Wonders of the World. It is a place that can give you a natural landscape, sun, and also you can cool off with its waters. This is Lake Coatepeque, which astounds many with its stunning waters and colorful nature.
To get to the Lake you have to enter through the detour of El Congo. If you are going through the road that leads to the Lake you will be able to appreciate viewpoints, dining and cuisine that will allow you to taste delicious food.
One of the most popular services is the ferry since it has two levels, with restaurant service and bathrooms. Visitors can tour the lake while enjoying their drinks or lunch. The panorama is the extra complement.
