Let’s go on Vacation to el Sunzal!

Got no plans for this Spring Break or Easter Week? There is no need to worry; there is a great option just 45 minutes away from the city.
Located on kilometer 44 ½ from Carretera Del Litoral, El Sunzal is part of an integration of seashores, where surfers tend to gather and dare to defy the ocean’s mighty waves.
It is considered, based on specialized media and international surfers, one of the best coasts in the world to practice surfing; it is also excellent for practicing snorkeling and shallow diving.
This coast has rocky, marine bedding, where oysters, lobsters, and many other crustaceans live naturally, especially during Summer times (November-April), according to the Ministerio de Turismo’s (MITUR’s) website.
This coastal zone is full of prestigious restaurants and small businesses which offer food services with fresh local seafood, secured parking lots and hostels which offer night and day stays, among other attractions.
Where to eat?
In El Sunzal, are various prestigious restaurants where you can taste a variety of fresh seafood dishes , with prices varying from $3.50 to $12.
Where to stay?
Visitors and tourists are provided with camping spots on the coast; also they can stay in one of the various hostels near the zone which offer excellent prices. Every visitor or tourist, who wishes to camp there, must make sure to bring their own adequate luggage and equipment.
How to get there?
El Sunzal is situated on Carretera Del Litoral, kilometer 44 ½. If you decide to drive, follow the street signs which indicate several entrances towards the beach. We would also like to suggest parking your vehicle in any nearby parking lot, since no vehicles are permitted on the beach. The cost to park there is about $1-$2 a day.
Which bus stops do I take?
Take bus number “102-A” which travels from Ciudad Del Puerto de La Libertad, up to El Sunzal. The traveling ticket costs about $0.75. Have fun, surfing and enjoying local seafood here in Sunzal, El Salvador!
