Eating pupusas in Los Planes de Renderos

If you are thinking about these August holidays and want to visit a place where you can enjoy a variety of typical food, such as delicios, hot pupusas with curtido and sauce, then you must visit Los Planes de Renderos. This extraordinary place is just 15 minutes away from San Salvador and offers a great culinary experience.
Los Planes de Renderos is located in an area known for its unique environment filled with different locales. It also offers a pleasant climate and one of the most significant scenic views of San Salvador.
This is definitely a busy place where you can not only enjoy the views, but also spend a weekend afternoon with your family outdoors, visiting ecological areas around this wonderful place. Los Planes de Renderos also offers visitors hiking, picnicking with the family, or simply appreciating the natural beauty of this location.
How to get there by car?
To get to Los Planes de Renderos, drive on the road to the International Airport of Comalapa. After passing by the cemetery “Jardines del Recuerdos” take the detour signposted towards Los Planes de Renderos on the right. The drive is approximately 15 minutes long.
Signs will indicate to turn towards Panchimalco and the area of La Puerta del Diablo (Balboa Park) which is located on the right side of the street. A reference point to access Balboa Park is the Obelisk “España, Madre los Pueblos” at its entrance. Parking is available in Balboa Park for only one dollar.
How to get there by bus?
The buses that go to Los Planes de Renderos are: Route 12 and 17 (bus or minibus.) You can catch them in the center of San Salvador, near the central market. The cost is 20 cents on week-days and 35 cents on the weekends.
Hours: The playground is open daily from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Note: Public opening hours are extended to 10:00 pm for the dining area only.
Entrance Fee: $ 0.50 per person (children under 8 years and adults over 60 enter FREE).
$ 1 for parking.
